ORS 237.645 Options for legislators who are not members of Public Employees Retirement System
A person who is appointed or elected as a member of the Legislative Assembly and who is not a member of the Public Employees Retirement System at the time of the appointment or election:
May not become a member of the Public Employees Retirement System for the purpose of service in the Legislative Assembly.
May elect to become a legislator member of the state deferred compensation plan under ORS 237.655 for the purpose of service in the Legislative Assembly.
Note: 237.645 was enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but was not added to or made a part of ORS chapter 237 or any series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
