ORS 276A.403 Coordination of telecommunications systems

The State Chief Information Officer shall coordinate, in a manner that is consistent with plans, standards, policies, goals, directives and rules that the State Chief Information Officer sets, specifies or adopts, the consolidation and operation of all telecommunications systems, including emergency telecommunications systems, that the state and state agencies use. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, an agent or agency of the state may not construct, purchase or otherwise gain access to a telecommunications system without the prior approval of the State Chief Information Officer.

The provisions of this section do not require emergency service providers, as defined by the State Chief Information Officer, to consolidate telecommunications systems that emergency service providers use into nonemergency networks.
