Chapter 30 — Actions and Suits in Particular Cases
ORS 30.302 Certain retired health care providers to be considered agents of public bodies
As used in this section, “retired provider” means any person:
Who holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, or who has met the minimum educational requirements for licensure to practice naturopathic medicine or as a physician associate under ORS 677.505 to 677.525 or a nurse practitioner under ORS 678.375 to 678.390;
Who has been licensed and is currently retired in accordance with the provisions of ORS chapter 677, 678 or 685;
Who is registered with the Oregon Medical Board as a retired emeritus physician or who complies with the requirements of the Oregon Medical Board as a retired physician associate, the Oregon State Board of Nursing as a retired nurse practitioner or the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine as a retired naturopathic physician;
Who registers with the local health officer of the local public health authority, as defined in ORS 431.003, in which the physician, physician associate, nurse practitioner or naturopathic physician practices; and
Who provides medical care as a volunteer without compensation solely through referrals from the local health officer specified in paragraph (d) of this subsection.
