Chapter 431A — Public Health Programs and Activities

ORS 431A.463 Prohibition on requiring prior authorization of payment for substance use disorder treatment; rules

(1)

The Oregon Health Authority shall prohibit coordinated care organizations and public payers of health insurance, when reimbursing the cost of medication-assisted treatment for treating substance use disorders, including opioid and opiate addiction, from requiring prior authorization of payment during the first 30 days of medication-assisted treatment.

(2)

The authority may adopt rules to carry out this section.
