Chapter 171 — State Legislature
ORS 171.620 Powers
Unless otherwise specifically provided by law or by the joint resolution creating it, and in addition to any other powers it possesses, an interim committee may:
Perform such acts as the committee finds necessary to carry out its powers and the purposes expressed in the joint resolution creating it.
Select its officers and adopt such rules for its organization and proceedings as the committee considers convenient to exercise its powers and accomplish its purposes.
Hold meetings at such times and places, whether within or without this state, as the committee considers expedient.
Use advisory committees or subcommittees, the members to be appointed by the chairperson of the interim committee subject to approval by a majority of the members of the interim committee. The advisory committees or subcommittees may include individuals other than members of the Legislative Assembly.
Reimburse members of advisory committees or subcommittees who are not members of the Legislative Assembly for their actual and necessary travel and other expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
