Chapter 421 — Department of Corrections Institutions; Compacts
ORS 421.506 Intensive alternative incarceration addiction program; requirements
The Department of Corrections shall establish an intensive alternative incarceration addiction program. The program shall:
Address addiction as a chronic disease, recognizing that participants have individualized needs and different recovery progressions;
Require compliance with program rules;
Include a range of professional treatment services, recovery activities, engagement with peer mentors, educational and vocational services and self-help groups;
Provide addiction treatment that incorporates proven, research-based interventions;
Be trauma-informed and gender-responsive; and
Be at least 270 days’ duration.
