Chapter 431A — Public Health Programs and Activities
ORS 431A.412 Department of Human Services as lead state agency for clean air shelter operations
As used in this section:
“Public education provider” has the meaning given that term in ORS 326.545.
“Support” includes, but is not limited to, providing technical expertise, equipment, staff assistance, training and general assistance.
The Department of Human Services is the lead state agency for supporting operations for spaces that provide cleaner air, warming or cooling. The department shall:
Consult and collaborate with the Oregon Health Authority to align practices for voluntary evacuations and emergency sheltering operations.
Coordinate with the authority in setting priorities for awarding grants described in ORS 431A.410.
Provide support to the local agencies, public education providers, federally recognized Indian tribes in Oregon, nonprofits and faith-based organizations that take lead roles in operating and planning spaces that provide cleaner air, warming or cooling.
