Chapter 459A — Reuse and Recycling
ORS 459A.300 Legislative findings
The Legislative Assembly finds that:
It is necessary to encourage the design of electronic devices that are more resource-efficient, more recyclable and less environmentally toxic;
The development and availability of a statewide system that conveniently serves both urban and rural areas of Oregon for the collection, transportation and recycling of electronic devices is in the best interest of the state; and
A statewide collection, transportation and recycling system should be financed by the manufacturers of those electronic devices.
Note: 459A.300 to 459A.365 were enacted into law by the Legislative Assembly but were not added to or made a part of ORS chapter 459A or any series therein by legislative action. See Preface to Oregon Revised Statutes for further explanation.
