ORS 659A.159 Purposes for which family leave may be taken
To care for a child of the employee who is suffering from an illness, injury or condition that requires home care or who requires home care due to the closure of the child’s school or child care provider as a result of a public health emergency.
To deal with the death of a family member by:
Attending the funeral or alternative to a funeral of the family member;
Making arrangements necessitated by the death of the family member; or
Grieving the death of the family member.
Leave under subsection (1)(a) of this section may only be taken for a child of the employee who is:
Under the age of 18; or
Substantially limited by a physical or mental impairment as described in ORS 659A.104.
Leave under subsection (1)(b) of this section must be completed within 60 days of the date on which the eligible employee receives notice of the death of a family member.
