Chapter 292 — Salaries and Expenses of State Officers and Employees

The salaries of the Governor, Secretary of State, State Treasurer, Attorney General, judges of the Supreme and circuit courts, district attorneys, and all other state officers, and all persons employed by the state whose salary or compensation is payable by law out of the State Treasury, shall be paid monthly or on a biweekly basis.
As used in ORS 292.014 to 292.036:
“Authorized employee deductions” includes all authorized deductions made from the salary and wages of an officer or employee of a state agency.
“Salaries and wages” means payments to officers and employees of a state agency for services rendered other than on a fee basis.
The salaries and wages of the officers and employees of any state agency whose salaries and wages are payable out of the State Treasury shall be paid through the medium of payrolls as provided in ORS 292.014 to 292.036.
The chief administrative officer of any state agency electing to use the procedure provided by ORS 292.014 to 292.036 shall designate the Oregon Department of Administrative Services as an agent to act for the chief administrative officer under ORS 292.014 to 292.036.
