Chapter 408 — Miscellaneous Benefits for Veterans and Service Personnel
ORS 408.350 Educational materials about hepatitis C
As used in this section, “veteran” means a person who is:
A resident of Oregon; and
A veteran as defined in ORS 408.225.
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs shall provide, in written or electronic format, educational materials on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of hepatitis C in veterans who are at high risk of contracting the disease.
The department shall make the materials available to all veterans and health care providers.
The materials shall include:
The recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Liver Foundation relating to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of hepatitis C; and
Information from other groups that the department believes present reliable information concerning the increased risk to veterans of contracting hepatitis C.
