Chapter 432 — Vital Statistics
ORS 432.450 Grant program for issuance of certified copy of record of live birth to individual who is homeless; rules
The Oregon Health Authority shall establish a grant program for the purpose of allowing an individual who is homeless to obtain a certified copy of the individual’s record of live birth at a reduced rate or free of charge.
In administering the program, the authority:
Shall award grants to state, regional and local agencies and organizations listed in ORS 458.528 for the purpose specified in subsection (1) of this section;
Shall develop criteria for receiving a grant under this section and processes for applying for a grant under this section;
May require recipients of a grant to report to the authority on the use of grant funds; and
Shall adopt by rule a definition for the term “individual who is homeless” that gives the term the same meaning as provided in 42 U.S.C. 11302 for the terms “homeless,” “homeless individual” and “homeless person.”
