Chapter 660 — Apprenticeship and Training; Workforce Development; Volunteerism
ORS 660.220 Outreach to veterans by Bureau of Labor and Industries; rules
The Bureau of Labor and Industries shall develop and administer a program to conduct outreach to veterans to:
Inform them about trade careers; and
Connect them with available apprenticeship opportunities.
The bureau may issue grants to trade unions and trade associations to be used to conduct outreach through job fairs or similar recruitment methods.
The bureau may enter into one or more agreements with other state agencies, including the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Employment Department and the Department of Transportation, for the purpose of identifying veterans for outreach purposes.
The bureau shall adopt rules to administer and implement the provisions of this section.
As used in this section, “veteran” means a resident of Oregon who:
Is a veteran as defined in ORS 408.225; or
Served in the Oregon National Guard or a reserve component of the Armed Forces of the United States.
