Chapter 825 — Motor Carriers

ORS 825.022 Nonapplicability of certain provisions to vehicles and combinations

The provisions of ORS 825.160, 825.450, 825.454, 825.470, 825.472, 825.474, 825.476, 825.480, 825.484, 825.488, 825.490, 825.492, 825.494, 825.496 and 825.515 do not apply to any of the following:

(1)

A vehicle or combination of vehicles with a combined weight of 26,000 pounds or less.

(2)

A vehicle being used in the transportation of persons for hire if the operation:

(a)

Is performed by a nonprofit entity;

(b)

Is performed by use of vehicles operating in compliance with ORS 820.020 to 820.070; and

(c)

Is approved by the Department of Transportation as complying with paragraphs (a) and (b) of this subsection.

(3)

A vehicle owned or operated by a transportation district organized under ORS 267.510 to 267.650.

(4)

A vehicle owned or operated by a county service district authorized to provide public transportation under ORS 451.010.

(5)

A vehicle owned or operated by an intergovernmental body formed by two or more public bodies, as defined in ORS 174.109, to provide public transportation.
